"Fishing is marvelous...there is the irresistible urge to tangle with the mysterious and unknown, to rely on intuition and hunches."

November 11th, 2023 (3:45 to 5:00pm) - Low 60s, cloudy, slight breeze, water temp in the 50's and 3-4' visibility
Local, private 2.5 acre pond with big fish potential
13 bass were caught ranging in size from 8" to 19.25" (3.2 lbs.), with average fish around 16"
The bite was slight, and most of the fish were caught on spinnerbaits (white/yellow with shad trailer) and shad colored jerk baits (3.5"). Two of the larger fish (18", 17") where caught on the 5" Big Joshy Swimbait in Green Sunfish.
August 10th, 2024 (9:00 -11:30 AM) - Mid 80's, low humidity, slight breeze, drought (water level down)
RIVER UPDATE: SCIOTO RIVER (below the dam) at GRIGGS RESERVOIR PARK
The river is very wadable at this location (which also makes it very popular and pressured). The water was clear and the substrate was relatively slit free and made up of cobble size rocks. We caught a couple 10" smallmouth bass but some decent smallies have come out of this site, along with saugeye, largemouth bass and rockbass.
The most productive baits were Ned Rig and topwater baits. Fish the transitions from fast to slow(er) water.
August 25th, 2024 (8:30 to 11:30 AM) - high 80's, high humidity, slight breeze, water temp 80*, muddy
LAKE UPDATE: RUSH CREEK LAKE
Had the chance to fish Rush Creek last weekend. It is a new lake for me, as I have only fished it one in the past, but it is an interesting lake and I think it has some promise. My son caught two bass flipping laydowns with a Texas rigged speed worm and I lost one at the boat that might have been my PB. It was caught while running a squarebill through standing timber in 8+ feet of water. That one will haunt me, but also pretty much guarantees that I will be back.
What to expect:
298 acres of water with several shore fishing access points
Standing timber and numerous laydowns
Ramp is in good shape with plenty of packing
Fairly pressured (Saturday morning and we saw 7-8 other boats)
10 horsepower limit on the motors
Deepest spot in the Lake is 30 feet (near dam)
Fish Species - LM Bass, White Crappie, Channel Catfish, Bluegill (and other eutrophic species)
