January Ice Fishing
Ten GFC Members and three of the club advisors hit the ice on January 30th from noon till 3:00. The conditions were perfect. Five to six inches of clear ice covered most of the pond, and the sky was bright with little wind and temperatures in the low 30's. Over 30 bluegill were caught, most in the 5 to 7 inch range, and Kam landed a chunky winter bass around 13 inches. Jigs tipped with wax worms or minnows (the bass) did the work. A special thanks to the Millers for the bonfire and Anthony Fussell for sharing his expertise and equipment. He hooked us up with an ice shanty, tip ups, an underwater camera, extra rods and bait.
